The Information Ministry has condemned the attack on Brenya Fm’s presenter, Oso Blessing by some unnamed men.
The ministry is therefore calling on the police to investigate the matter as an issue of urgency to bring perpetrators to book.
According to the statement, the said thugs attacked the presenter when hosting a program to discuss issues surrounding the premix fuel on Monday, 16th May 2022 when the said incident occurred.
The statement signed by the PR Unit emphasised there is no justification for anyone to attack or assault a broadcaster in line with his/her duty.
It also advises the public to consult the National Media Commission and the courts to complain about their grievances against a broadcaster instead of taking the law into their own hands.
However, the Deputy Information Minister, Hajia Abubakar is said to have personally spoken to the manager of the station and the Police Commander in the area to see how best the issue can be resolved.
