On Wednesday, 20th July 2022, in line with the commitment to continuously account to the good people of Ghana, the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor updated the nation on policies and programmes being implemented in support of the vision of the President of the Republic, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to bring the much-needed development to our people.
Through the media, the minister briefed the nation on developments in the three broad sectors under the Ministry, namely, mining, forestry and lands.
The minister said, “Our overarching policy is to ensure the effective protection, preservation and utilisation of the lands and natural resources of our country for the benefit of the Ghanaian people, the true owners of these resources”.
Mr Abu Jinapor used the opportunity to reiterate Government’s commitment to efficiently manage the resources entrusted to the ministry.
“Our duty is a fiduciary one, which requires us to responsibly and intelligently ensure that Ghanaians benefit from our God-given resources. And we will continue to adopt and implement the necessary policies and programmes to realize this goal” the minister assured.
