A US-based Ghanaian businesswoman and her family have been attacked by armed robbers in broad day light at Suhum in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The incident occurred on Friday, August 12, 2022.
On the fateful day, the US-based Ghanaian business Woman and her sister visited their grandmother at Suhum on transit to attend a funeral at Kwahu on the weekend.
However, shortly after the arrival around 10:45 am, the five-member robbery gang including a woman who is believed to have monitored them from Accra, invaded the house, robbed them at gunpoint, and attempted to rape one of the victims.
The robbers stole iPhone 13 Promax and 12, LG Phone, Itel phone, Suitcase, Gold jewelry, 3 Plasma TV sets, parked them in a Toyota highlander hybrid 2020 model with registration number GW 1180-21 belonging to the US Business woman and drove away.
In Accra, a brother of the complainant, Mr. Yaw Owusu who was in a commercial van (Trotro) sighted the car and traced it to the hideout at Tantra Hills, and assisted the police and national security to apprehend two of the suspects.
The two suspects are Emmanuel Ankoma Nana Yaw- 32 and Kyei Baffour 29 year resident of Pobiman.
They have been handed over to the Suhum Police and expected to be put before a court.
