Ghana’s President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday, December 9, 2022 approved the NHIS Free Elderly Care Policy.
The Policy guarantees a waiver of the mandatory 30 days waiting period and an exemption from the premium and processing fees payment for all Ghanaians aged 70 years and above.
Board chairman Dr. Ernest K.P Kwarko led a delegation from the Authority to the Jubilee House. Chief Executive Dr. Okoe Boye, Deputy Chief Executives and some Directors were all present during the meeting with President Akufo-Addo.
The NHIS since its inception has initiated many policies and programs to ensure Ghanaians at all levels get quality and accessible health care.
