The Omanhene of New Juaben traditional Area Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, has hinted of his vision to establish New Juaben Rural Bank(NJRB) and a Girls Senior High School within the jurisdiction of the traditional council.
According to him, the establishment of the bank is to support small scale enterprises and traders in New Juaben to stimulate the local economy and create jobs for the youth.
Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III also explained that,having Girls Senior High School in the traditional area will help promote girl-child education as well.
Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III said this during dinner and awards night on Monday at Eastern premier hotel in Koforidua.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gabby Asare Okyere Darko who was the chairman for the event lauded the initiative by Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III to establish rural bank and girls school, stating that the processes must start for it to come into reality.
The Eastern regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong on his part said government has decided to partner New Juaben traditional area to revive Akwasidae and make it one of the biggest festivals in Ghana.
At the end of the ceremony, Ghc226,500 cedis plus $500 were actualized during a spontaneous fund raising by the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi.
