The Manhyia South constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ofori-Atta (Tomtom), has set a deadline for Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), the national organiser of the NPP, to retract and apologize for what he claims are blatant lies in a Facebook post concerning an incident at the party’s Ashanti Regional Parliamentary Vetting.
Nana B’s Facebook post on January 11, 2024, denied media reports suggesting that the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), disrespected Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during the vetting.
Tomtom, in a rebuttal, accuses Nana B of issuing a statement full of lies and demands a retraction and apology by the end of January 18, 2024.
In his statement, Tomtom warns that if Nana B fails to comply with the deadline, he will reveal the full facts on January 19, 2024.
Tomtom highlights the presence of approximately 40 people in the vetting room, emphasizing that the truth cannot be concealed. The NPP constituency chairman’s firm stance reflects the escalating tension over the conflicting accounts of the incident.
