The 2024 Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that he will introduce a 2000 megawatt solar power to help address high electricity prices in the country.
To him, the 2000 megawatt solar power project is aimed at reducing electricity prices by 50 percent to increase Ghana’s energy needs.
Dr. Bawumia affirmed that the project will increase the transmission of renewable energy to the national grid to sustain electricity distribution for Ghanaians.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted his vision to constituents to reform Ghana’s systems of governance during his tour to the Lower West Akim, Upper West Akim, and Akwatia constituencies in the Eastern Region.
He indicated that he revamps Ghana’s agriculture business with fertilizers, and farming equipment’s.
The NPP Presidential Candidate reaffirmed his decision to introduce a living allowance to enable the paramount chiefs, queen mothers, and traditional leaders to have adequate resources to perform their responsibilities effectively at all levels.
Dr. Bawumia said his government will not allow Ghanaians to practice same sex marriage due to Ghana’s traditional and religious beliefs.
Hon. Frederick Obeng Adom, a lawmaker for the upper West Akim Constituency, pleaded with electorates to vote for the NPP in the December polls.
Hon. Frederick Obeng added that the NPP-led government has introduced many interventions in the history of Ghana.
