As thousands join busses in a bid to return to their constituencies to cast their votes, the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua is not exempted from the emptiness on its principal streets.
Walking through the principal streets of Koforidua, shops were closed, streets left almost empty with no vehicular or human traffic.
Electorates were spotted at some party offices seeking transportation to their constituencies to exercise their franchise while some were also on their way to centres to cast their votes.
Only a handful of market women could be seen in the major markets doing their business as usual, seemingly unconcerned about the “crucial election” as described by others do.
Military and police personnel are very visible in town, ensuring tight security to prevent unscrupulous individuals from taking advantage of the quite environment to perpetuate criminal activities.
