The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has made it mandatory wearing of Nose Masks.
The decision was taken after an emergency meeting on Monday April 7, 2020.
A statement signed by the Municipal Coordinating Director Musah Yahaya Froko stated that wearing of Nose Mask is now mandatory for everyone with immediate effect.
The New Juaben Municipal Assembly has become the first Assembly to enforce compulsory wearing of nose mask in the Eastern Region.
At the National level, Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council and Greater Kumasi instituted similar directive last week.
Wearing of nose mask is one of the preventive protocols recommended by World Health Organization for Containing the spread of Coronavirus aside social distancing and regular hand washing with Soap.
As at April 26, 2020 Ghana has recorded 1,550 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 11 deaths.
The number of recoveries has also jumped to 155 from 134.
