The Ghana Football Association has officially announced the departure of Otto Addo as head coach of the senior national team, the Ghana Black Stars, with immediate effect.
The decision comes on the back of a disappointing international window in which Ghana suffered consecutive defeats, including a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria and a 2-1 defeat against Germany.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo effective immediately” a statement from the Ghana FA reads.
“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours”
Meanwhile, the Ghana FA has begun search for a new head coach, just 73 days to the commencement of the 2026 World Cup.
“The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course”
