Energy minister John Jinapor received the final report from the Investigative Committee established to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire incident at the Akosombo Substation.
The Minister expressed his appreciation to the Ing. Amuna Committee for their diligence, professionalism, and commitment in carrying out this important assignment.
He indicated that Government will carefully review the report and take the necessary actions to address its recommendations.
“Our focus remains on ensuring accountability where required, preventing future occurrences, and safeguarding the integrity of the national electricity transmission system” he added.
The relevant institutions have already been tasked to develop and implement a clear action plan, including enhanced safety protocols, infrastructure upgrades, risk management measures, and periodic audits of critical power installations across the country.
“We remain committed to maintaining a stable and secure power supply while continuously improving the systems that support national development” he stressed.
He again said further updates will be provided after Government’s review of the report and the determination of the appropriate course of action.
