The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has encouraged foreign investors to explore agribusiness, manufacturing, commercial contracting farming and agro-processing, but warned them against engaging in retail trade.
“We are open to everything legitimate. We invite you to trade and invest within the law, but do not violate Ghana’s laws by engaging in retail trade,” she stated.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare gave the warning when she received a report from the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority(GIPA) and the Ghana Union of Traders Association(GUTA) and the Nigeria Union of Traders Association(NUTA) in Accra on Monday, 7th September 2026.
The Hon. Minister said government remains committed to a fair, business-friendly environment while protecting Ghanaian businesses and promoting industrialization and sustainable economic development.
