Paul Afoko, aspirant for New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, says he has forgiven party members who have hurt him in the past, adding that personal issues must not impede the party’s rebuilding efforts.
Speaking on Owia TV, Mr. Afoko stated that even though the circumstances leading to his suspension from the party caused him great pain, he has made the decision to move on from the past.
“Yes, the party indeed hurt me, but it was a group of party members who hurt me. I have forgiven them and given everything to God.
“Everything that occurred is in the past,” he declared. He claimed that focusing on past disputes will only make it harder for the NPP to win back power.
“I cannot sit idle and watch the party drown just because I have been hurt in the past,” he stated.
Mr. Afoko asked party members who feel mistreated or insulted to extend forgiveness and cooperate in order to achieve a shared objective.
“Anyone with grievances towards the party should forgive and leave them in the past. Come and let’s build a bridge to the future,” he appealed.
