The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, has announced a new waste management system aimed at improving the management of waste across the country.
Under the new system, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) have been given a 30-day deadline to transfer designated waste transfer station sites.
The initiative forms part of Government’s efforts to strengthen sanitation and establish a more efficient and sustainable waste management system.
