Aspiring Constituency secretary of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Ernest Kwaku Boateng (KB) has condemned activities surrounding the ongoing party’s polling station elections.
He accused the incumbent member of Parliament, Michael Okyere Baafi and other executives of the party for involving in shady actions, that goes against some aspirants to favour others who are perceived to be on the side of the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on Bryt fm Adekyee Mu Nsem, KB made a passionate appeal to Dr. Bawumia to intervene and speak to the matter in order to ensure fairness and also help maintain the peace that party enjoys.
“This is what has reduced the party’s votes over the years. The New Juaben South NPP was leading the NDC with over 22,000 votes but was reduced to over 3,000 during the 2024 general elections. This tells you that the party is gradually losing grounds in the constituency”.
“I am calling on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to come out openly and speak to the issue before it affect him and the NPP come 2028” KB told the host, Kwamina Sam Biney on Bryt fm.
KB added that “I am saying this because those behind the intimidations are linked to Dr. Bawumia and that, he must come out and call them to order”.
There have been several issues of intimidation that has charactized the NPP’s polling station elections, with most contestants complaining of lack of fairness in the exercise.
