The Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programmes, Mr. Augustus Goosie Tanoh, has expressed strong confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to restoring credibility and legitimacy to governance.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Wednesday, July 2, Mr. Tanoh highlighted the President’s achievements within his first 120 days in office, calling them a clear sign of renewed purpose and dedication to national transformation.
“I think the social contract—the 120-day contract—and the fact that he has achieved those milestones show a renewed determination and purpose. It sets the stage for what’s to come. He’s clearly shown that he means business, and he’s committed to promoting, protecting, and expanding business,” he said.
Mr. Tanoh explained that the 24-Hour Economy goes beyond just extended working hours, describing it as a broader shift in how the state relates to citizens, businesses, and institutions.
“One key part of the reset agenda is how the state engages with the public, businesses, and institutions. Without an efficient and friendly state, investors will stay away, and that becomes a major barrier to progress,” he said.
He also pointed to the President’s anti-corruption efforts, including the new Code of Conduct for public officials, as a step toward greater transparency and accountability.
“Things like the Code of Conduct show that this administration means business and is serious about cleaning up governance,” he added.
Mr. Tanoh’s remarks come after the launch of the government’s flagship 24-Hour Economy policy, aimed at creating jobs, increasing productivity, and promoting inclusive growth through round-the-clock operations in sectors like healthcare, transport, retail, and manufacturing.
