As part of a strategic effort to ensure the safety of Ghanaians, the Energy Commission has held a capacity training workshop for stakeholders on safe electrical wiring and safe practices to reduce high energy efficiency in the Eastern region.
The workshop training forms part of the commitment of the Energy Commission to improve safety of life and property as part of electricity consumption. The Energy Commission is embarking on the exercise to create awareness to reduce fire outbreaks and improve safe electrical wiring.
The Commission has engaged personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Certified Electrical Wiring Professionals, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service, electrical shop operators, electricity consumers, and other relevant agencies at the New Juaben South Metropolitan Assembly hall.

Participants were urged to purchase labelled home appliances by the commission and adhere to safe electrical wiring guidelines to prevent fire-related incidents in the country.
Addressing the press after the training, Samuel Frimpong, the Accra Public Affairs Senior Officer at the Energy Commission, cautioned facility owners to engage certified electricians in their electrical wiring process to prevent fire outbreaks.
Mr. Samuel Frimpong explained that the awareness creation on energy efficiency, electrical wiring guidelines, and energy conservation forms parts of the commission’s core mandates.
He indicated that the commission remained focus on helping Ghanaians reduce their power consumption and save money. Mr. Samuel Frimpong urged the importers, dealers, and energy consumers to look out for the yellow label by the commission when buying electrical gadgets.
Mr. Samuel Frimpong disclosed that they will extend their education to marketplaces, churches, mosques, lorry stations, and other places in the Eastern region.
