Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has acknowledged that while Ghana’s economy has not fully recovered, there are visible signs of progress under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
Presenting the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, Dr. Forson noted the severity of the economic crisis inherited by the current administration but assured the House and Ghanaians that efforts to turn the situation around are bearing fruit.
“Mr. Speaker, there is still more work to be done. President Mahama is determined to deliver,” he stated.
While outlining gains made so far, the Finance Minister cautioned against complacency and warned that it would be premature to claim full recovery.
“We are not out of the woods! It will be premature to make that pronouncement,” he emphasized.
Despite the caution, Dr. Forson struck an optimistic tone, highlighting renewed hope and determination within the government to steer the country out of its economic challenges.
“The good news is that today, hope is in sight, and we are determined to navigate the country out of the terrible storm we inherited,” he said.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to economic stability, investor confidence, and sustainable growth.
“Insha Allah, H.E. President John Mahama will deliver!” Dr. Forson concluded.
