The National Identification Authority (NIA) has paid all outstanding Operational Support Allowances owed to staff from January to July 2025.
The 20% allowance, which supplements staff salaries, had been delayed, prompting a nationwide strike due to the Ministry of Finance’s failure to commit to a payment timeline.
At a press briefing, Head of Corporate Affairs, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, confirmed the arrears have now been cleared.
“I’m happy to announce that the 20% Staff Operational Allowance is being paid, and arrears from January to July have been settled,” he stated.
He thanked staff and stakeholders for their patience, assuring the public that the NIA remains committed to delivering a secure and legally compliant identity system
