Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024, has urged Ghanaians to consider the terrible tragedy that killed two serving ministers of state and other patriotic persons with sobering eyes.
The politician known as NAPO said the time should bring the country together and encourage leaders to concentrate on projects that genuinely enhance lives while speaking at a wreath-laying ceremony at Jubilee House during the three-day national mourning.
In his homage, he recalled his close relationships with Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and the late Defense Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, characterizing them as trustworthy colleagues and friends.
He also recalled his close cooperation in public service throughout his 25-year association with the late Dr. Samuel Sarpong.
He emphasized that the deceased families will soon have to endure their suffering alone, even as he acknowledged the nation’s collective mourning. Long after the ceremonies, he implored Ghanaians to provide love, compassion, and practical help.
“This is a time for sober reflection,” he said, “a time to stand together, comfort the grieving, and commit to building the Ghana our fallen brothers and sisters dreamed of.”
