Car snatching has hit Suhum and its environs in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern region, the District Police Commander has hinted.
According to Chief Superintendent Joseph Owusu, a Kia taxi cab with registration number GW 7544-19 was snatched from the driver by name, Michael Tetteh last Saturday, 9th May 2020, when he was approached by a young man about 20-years to take him to Budu, a community near Suhum.
He stressed that the vehicle was allegedly snatched from the driver on the way to Budu.
The police capo is, however, advising the public, especially taxi drivers to be wary of the latest incident to avoid falling victims.
Chief Superintendent Joseph Owusu also pledged his outfit’s preparedness to deal with a crime within the area to ensure security is on top to protect lives and property.
On the issue of enforcing laws on the COVID-19 outbreak, the Police Commander emphasized that the police are making the sure ban on social gathering is well enforced, as well as wearing face masks is concerned.
He, was, however satisfied with the cooperation of the public in adhering to protocols laid down by government and health professionals to ensure the spread of the virus is contained.
