Hamza Suhuyini, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, has urged for ongoing scrutiny while in opposition and accused the former New Patriotic Party administration of failing to combat corruption.
Suhuyini pointed to investigations involving state entities to support his claim that corruption under the NPP was systemic rather than isolated.
“National Service Secretariat, Buffer Stock, even ECG, the records speak. These were not accidents. This was organised looting,” he said on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV.
Additionally, he criticized the way former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was handled, saying that the public ought to hold him accountable.
“When he was in charge of our money, he was fine. Now that accountability is required, suddenly he cannot be reached,” Suhuyini remarked. “It is unacceptable.” He added.
