The Ghana Police Service, under the leadership of IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, concluded the year 2025 on a high note.
Throughout the country, Police Officers actively participated in nationwide security outreach activities, a key component of the annual inter-agency security operational outreach campaigns.
Notably, the high morale among Police Service personnel was evident in the numerous crime prevention and detection successes, as well as the number of arrests made during the period.
Another significant highlight was the promotion of Police Officers to various ranks in December 2025.
Following the end-of-year Police Council session, reviews and considerations led to the approval of promotions for officers who successfully investigated the 2020 and 2024 National Election Violence cases, as well as for the IGP’s special security taskforce officers who worked tirelessly to curtail crime across the country.
Given the challenges surrounding promotions in the Ghana Police Service, this year’s promotional activities are commendable.
It is hoped that the trend of recognizing hard work will continue, with better welfare, conditions of service, and government support, including a creative remuneration structure, being provided to law enforcement agencies and officers.
Let’s support our Law Enforcement Officers to do more for Mother Ghana.
