Hon. Daniel Twumasi Kankam, popularly known as “Hon. Kankam OnPoint,”, Assembly Member for Gyamfikrom electoral area has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the New Juaben North Constituency, when nominations are opened as part of the Party’s post-presidential primaries restructuring process.
In a statement issued to party members and supporters, he said his decision is driven by deep loyalty to the NPP, a strong sense of duty, and a lifelong commitment to democratic values, grassroots empowerment, party unity, and effective political communication.
Hon. Kankam emphasized that strong, disciplined, and strategic communication is critical to rebuilding trust within the Party, energising the grassroots, defending the NPP’s record in government, and positioning the Party for victory in the 2028 general elections. He noted that his professional background in communication systems, governance, disaster and crisis management, as well as his Executive Master of Arts degree in Conflict, Peace and Security, has adequately prepared him to manage political messaging, counter misinformation, resolve internal tensions, and communicate the Party’s policies with clarity and credibility.
Outlining his understanding of the constitutional duties of a Constituency Communication Director, Hon. Kankam assured party members of his readiness to faithfully execute the role with discipline, professionalism, and accountability.
He pledged to propagate and explain Party policies, coordinate constituency-level communication strategies, defend the Party’s image, and mobilise the grassroots through consistent and responsible messaging. Calling for unity and collective focus, he appealed to party faithful for their support and prayers, stressing that his bid is rooted in service, sacrifice, and selflessness, and a shared commitment to building a stronger and more united NPP in New Juaben North and beyond.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF INTENT : TO CONTEST FOR COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR NPP – NEW JUABEN NORTH CONSTITUENCY
Fellow Patriots,
With deep humility, unwavering loyalty, and a profound sense of duty to our great tradition, I hereby officially declare my intention to contest for the position of Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), New Juaben North Constituency, when nominations are duly opened as part of the Party’s restructuring process following the successful conduct of our Presidential Primaries.
My decision to offer myself for service at this critical moment is rooted in my lifelong commitment to democratic principles, grassroots empowerment, party cohesion, and effective political communication. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving our Party and our country in various capacities across Ghana, within the Eastern Region, and particularly in the New Juaben North Constituency; always guided by the NPP’s values of Development in Freedom, Rule of Law, and Respect for Human Dignity.
Why I Seek to Serve
I am contesting because I firmly believe that strong, disciplined, truthful, and strategic communication is indispensable to rebuilding trust, energising the grassroots, defending our record in government, and positioning the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections. Our Party’s communication machinery must be proactive, coordinated, constitutionally grounded, and closely connected to the lived realities of our members and supporters.
My professional background in communication systems, governance, disaster and crisis management, combined with my Executive Master of Arts in Conflict, Peace and Security, has equipped me with the analytical depth, strategic thinking, and ethical judgement required to manage information, shape narratives, resolve internal tensions, and communicate the Party’s message with clarity and credibility; especially in times of political contestation.
Understanding the Role: Constitutional Preparedness
The Constitution of the New Patriotic Party clearly outlines the responsibilities of a Constituency Communication Director. In particular, the Constitution mandates the Communication Director to:
• Propagate and explain the policies, programmes, and positions of the Party to members and the general public.
• Coordinate the Party’s communication strategy at the constituency level in collaboration with the Constituency Executive Committee.
• Defend the Party’s image, clarify misinformation, and respond responsibly to public discourse.
• Mobilise and educate the grassroots, ensuring consistent messaging across all levels of the Party.
I want to assure Party members that I am fully conversant with these constitutional duties and practically prepared to execute them with discipline, professionalism, loyalty, and accountability.
