Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has expressed regrets after receiving the marching orders in RAAL La Louviere’s clash against K.V. Mechelen in the Belgian top-flight.
The Black Stars midfielder was sent off after just 16 minutes, as his outfit succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat to Mechelen on Sunday.
Ashimeru was making his third appearance for RAAL La Louviere after winter switch, having made substitute appearances against Union SG and Anderlecht.
“Disappointed with the red card. Unintentional and will work had to make things right for fans” he wrote on Instagram.
Ashimeru joined RAAL La Louviere on loan from Belgian Pro League side RSC Anderlecht in the second half of the season, a move that runs until the end of the season.
The early sending-off is a setback for both player and club as RAAL La Louviere continue their push for a strong second half of the season.
