Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a spokesman for the New Patriotic Party and a former presidential staffer, has rejected the NDC’s ORAL narrative as merely campaign rhetoric.
“If you are an NDC member stressed over ORAL, find some BP medications and rest. ORAL was a campaign message for votes and nothing else,” he wrote on social media.
He claims that the campaign’s promoted notion was insubstantial from the start.
“The basis of the so-called ORAL sold to you by your party leaders was flawed and made little sense from the get go,” he stated.
He further stated that current government appointees cannot publicly advocate for action on ORAL without contradicting themselves.
“Ask your favourite appointee to step out and protest for lack of action on so called ORAL. They can’t. If they do, they would entangle themselves,” he said.
Aboagye further cited comments attributed to the Attorney General, suggesting that the widely publicized claims were “a compilation of hearsays and gossips and nothing more.”
He argued that public prosecutions are not motivated by political pressure.
“Ghana isn’t a jungle and no one will be bundled up and thrown into jail to satisfy the ego of a political group,” he added.
