On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Nana Osei-Agyei, demonstrated purposeful and people-centered leadership through the distribution of street lights to all Assembly Members within the constituency. The initiative, aimed at enhancing visibility and strengthening security across the various electoral areas, marks yet another practical step toward responsive and inclusive governance.
Street lighting remains a critical component of local development. Beyond illumination, it deters crime, improves road safety, supports evening economic activities, and reassures residents; particularly women, children, and the elderly; of their safety after dusk. By empowering Assembly Members with street lights, the Honourable Member of Parliament has reinforced the collaborative bridge between the national legislature and the grassroots structures of local governance.
During the presentation, Hon. Nana Osei-Agyei underscored a profound principle of leadership that transcends political boundaries. In his words:
“I’m ready to work and support all Assembly members in the constituency irrespective of partisan affiliation to develop the entire constituency for the betterment and in the collective interests of everyone. Development has no political colors and it could only be achieved through collective collaboration and holistic support devoid of partisan differences.”
This statement reflects a mature understanding of public service; one that prioritizes collective progress over partisan interests. It sends a clear message that development is a shared responsibility and that unity remains the strongest vehicle for sustainable transformation.
On behalf of the Assembly Members, the Presiding Member, Hon. Jacob Antwi, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture. He assured the Member of Parliament that the street lights would be installed promptly in the respective electoral areas to ensure that the intended purpose : improved security and enhanced community life; is fully realized. He asked for more of such support.
The presentation was graced by key constituency leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by the Constituency Chairman, Hon. Dr. Ernest Oti Akenteng. Their presence signified unity of purpose and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to grassroots development within New Juaben North.
A Commitment to Collective Progress
As an Assemblyman for Gyamfikrom Electoral Area and a proud son of this constituency, I, Hon. Daniel Twumasi Kankam, deeply appreciate this timely intervention. On behalf of the entire constituents of New Juaben North; most especially the good people of Gyamfikrom Electoral Area; I extend heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Nana Osei-Agyei for this thoughtful and impactful support.
Leadership is not measured merely by words but by tangible actions that uplift communities. This gesture is a testament to servant leadership; leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers. It is our collective duty as Assembly Members to ensure that these street lights are installed and maintained responsibly so that every corner of our constituency reflects the light of progress and security.
Indeed, development thrives where unity prevails. When elected representatives, party leadership, and local authorities work together in harmony, the result is accelerated growth and shared prosperity. May this spirit of cooperation continue to define governance in New Juaben North as we build a constituency that is safe, vibrant, and forward-looking.
“Together, we shall illuminate not only our streets but also the path toward sustainable and inclusive development for generations to come” he stated.
