Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, the Minister of the Interior, has said that the government will not accept new applications for recruitment into the various security services in 2027 as they concentrate on reducing the backlog of eligible candidates who are awaiting enlistment.
According to the minister, the choice was made in compliance with President John Dramani Mahama’s directives, and the government plans to give preference to candidates who have already finished the hiring process and fulfilled the requirements but were not accepted for training because of space limitations.
In his appearance before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Tuesday, October 20, Mr. Muntaka clarified that the government will not allow new applicants to use the recruiting portal in the upcoming year.
“Next year, there will be no new applicants. We are not going to open the portal based on the President’s instructions. We are not going to open the portal for fresh applications.
“Those who have already applied, gone through and passed the process and qualified to have gone for training but space didn’t allow are the ones we will pick.
“We will keep picking from the list until we exhaust it before another application will be allowed.” He stated.
