Anthony Adusei, a former assistant coach of the Black Stars has admitted that there was a division in Ghana’s camp during the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.
A chunk of the players that participated in the tournament including Tony Yeboah, Prince Polley, Sarfo Gyamfi and others have attributed Ghana’s inability to win their fifth AFCON title to disunity among the squad.
However, coach Adusei in an interview with Kwaku Sarpong Sarkodie of Bryt FM in Koforidua put the icing on the cake, admitting to the fact that there were divisions in the team that subsequently hurt their performance in the final.
“It is true; there were divisions in the camp all because of captaincy issues. When Kwasi Appiah was stripped off the captaincy, you could see that the players have developed camps. In fact, the disunity among the players hurt us in the final” he said.
