Three (3) persons have sustained knife wounds while many others escaped unhurt after a group of thugs numbering over twenty (20) attacked the Gomoa Kumbey chiefs palace which is under the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council in the Central Region.
Properties worth thousands of cedis have been destroyed.
The attack at the palace happened at around midday on Friday when the Chief of Gomoa Kumbey Nana Oko Boaban Kwaa Otanyi II was welcoming some sub-chiefs at his palace in Opeikuma a suburb of Kasoa.
The thugs who were wielding guns and machetes besieged the Gomoa Kumbey palace and caused damage to their cars parked at the premises.
Three individuals sustained knife wounds and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to the Chief, this is the third time they have been attacked at the palace calling on the Ghana Police Service to deal with the suspects and their assigns.
The Kasoa District Police Commander DSP Samuel Odame told Bryt FM Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah that investigation is ongoing.
