Ghanaian youngster, Francis Asamoah has revealed that his move to the Danish side, Randers FC hit a snag due to racism.
Asamoah, 18, who is currently without a club in an interview with Bryt FM expressed that his inability to acquire a club at the moment is a result of racism.
The Swiss-based player disclosed that in his quest to get a new club he went for trials in Denmark with Randers FC but unable to join the club because the Sporting Director of the team was racist.
He said, “I went to Randers FC for trials and also to pen down a contract with the club but unfortunately my dream didn’t come to pass”
He continued, “In fact, the coach and players liked me because of the efforts and hard work I put in training. After training one day the Sporting Director told me in the face that I’m not good for the club which the coach objected but at the long run I realized that the Sporting Director didn’t like me because I’m black.”
“Players within the club told me personally that, the sporting director is racist. They told me I am one of the best and that, they do not know why the sports director is playing hide and seek”
“In all this, I have not regretted because I know God knows what is best for me. I have left everything onto him so I’m cool now” he said.
Francis Asamoah has had spells with St. Gallen, FC Colombier, FC Biel Bienne, Neuchâtel Xamax Fc.
Meanwhile, he has named Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior as his role model.
