Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Daffuor has clamoured for the board of directors for Okwahu United in the bid to change the face of the club.
The soccer mountaineers knew to be one of the top traditional clubs in the country currently plays in the second division league and according to the Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw, the club can return to winning ways should they constitute the board of directors.
He made this assertion at the sod-cutting ceremony for the reconstruction of the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium into a multi-complex sports facility. The project is estimated at a cost of Ghc27 million cedis and is being sponsored by the Middle Belt Development Authority as part of the one million per constituency project.
According to him, it will prudent for stakeholders to unite and help Okwahu United so they can return to where they deserve.
“We should do a stakeholders meeting and dialogue. I understand Okwahu United is in the Second Division which means the club keeps going back”
‘We need to get a target and in doing so we have to give the club to a seven-member board. In this case, if they are unable to perform they can be quarried. I believe people will be interested to support the club if we decide to go that way” he said.
