The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Adukwei Mensah has acknowledged the role of the media in Nation building and charged them not to fail Ghanaians in December general elections.
She said the EC cannot take the media for granted and cannot work without them, therefore, they must be a defender of defenders and Instrument of Truth and Peace before, during, and after the general elections.
Madam Jean Adukwei Mensah said this at the launch of the second edition of “Agent of Peace Campaign” by the Church of Pentecost, designed to educate and challenge members of the Church of Pentecost to become Agents of Change.
Speaking at the launch, the EC boss urged the media to be decorous in Communication and should not use their platform to mislead citizens and fuel war and confusion.
She called on the media to stay the course to remain gate Peacekeepers of Ghana’s Democracy and freedom.
The EC boss appealed to the media to be fair and truthful by presenting the facts as they are, base on evidence to avoid destruction.
