The Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama says the water extension project from Bukunor Water Treatment plant to rural Communities in the Krobo area will be completed under the next NDC government.
According to Mr. Mahama, the Akufo Addo led the government has aborted the water extension project in the area started by NDC, and have sold the pipelines to its party faithful upon assumption of office depriving the residents in Krobo area potable drinking water.
He said this when addressing supporter chiefs and people of Klo Agogo as part of his four-day tour of the Eastern Region.
John Mahama’s statement comes after the Chiefs and people appealed to him to ensure residents in the area get quality water to drink.
The Chiefs in the entire Communities in the Klo Agogo area also appealed that the enclave is given a district status.
The local chiefs pledged to vote massively for the NDC stating that they only see development when NDC is in power.
Nene Oleyem I, who spoke on behalf of the local chiefs however appealed to John Mahama to give the area a district status when he returns to government in 2021.
