Former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is currently the
Managing Director of the State Transport Company (STC), Nana Akomea has said President Nana Akufo-Addo administration since 2017 has established 28 New Factories across the Country.
He said 48 existing ones had benefited from 1D1F to expand their production units and 139,331 jobs have been created under the government’s flagship 1 District 1 Factory (1D1F) industrialization program.
Addressing the media in Accra, Nana Akomea said the jobs which comprise 18,811 direct and 120,520 indirect jobs were created as of July 2020.
Nana Akomea stated that a total of 76 factories were currently operating under waivers granted by the 1D1F program.
He added that a total of 232 factories were also at various stages of completion under the scheme and was optimistic that the Nana Akufo-Addo administration can do better if given another term to serve.
