The Western North Regional Police Command led by DCOP Otchere Boapea has shot two armed robbers to death after an exchange of gunfire.
In an interview with correspondent Hamza Mohammed, the Police Commander explained that they had a tip-off to the effect that, some armed robbers were attacking passengers on Sui Abrabra to Anyinabrem road.
The armed robbers reportedly shot three vehicles and injured three (3) passengers out of which one was in critical condition and rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
According to the Regional Police Commander, when armed Police personnel rushed to the scene the armed robbers started opening fire on the police officers which they returned fire leading to the death of one of the robbers at the spot but one was seriously injured and was captured by Police while the rest absconded.
He said the” robber who sustained serious gunshot injuries was rushed to the hospital but confessed before he died that they came from somewhere to rob “.DCOP Otchere Boapea said.
Police retrieved mobile phones, cash, gun, and ammunition from the robbers.
