Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah of University of Cape Coast (UCC) made history at the Legon 2020 GUSA Games when she jumped a personal best of 1.85m to set a new record in high jump.
Her feat puts her joint second in the all-time national ranking in the high jump with Margaret Simpson, Ruky Yeboah and Abigail Kwarteng leading the jumps at 1.87m.
Rose Yeboah was worried about missing out on clearing a height of 1.90m.
The 2019 African Games gold medalist with a height of 1.84m is seen by sports experts as a star of the future judging from her age and zeal to succeed in sports.
She has been nominated by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) for the 2019 Best Female Athlete of the Year.
Kate Agyemang also won the women 100m Gold in a time of 11.86secs. The Student of the University for Development Studies, Tamale is another potential star.
