The First lady of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Mrs. Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo- Addo has urged Hairdressers and Beauticians to show interest in creativity and also have firm understanding of tried- and – tested techniques to sustain relevance and be competitive in the ever-growing business of lifestyle and fashion across the world.
According to her, the industry has seen some tremendous growth in years, hence the need to handle the specific needs of individual clients.
“The truth is; you have to be always relevant. This means continuous enhancement of your skills and knowledge.” She said.
Speaking at the 10th Annual Salon Academy – 2020 on the theme, “Skill Enhancement, the medium for National Development”, the First lady urged the Association to organize online courses to afford its members the ability to learn from successful people in the industry.
Mrs. Akufo-Addo also entreated them to make plans and set goals for their businesses and also learn proper accounting and financial management.
She also took the opportunity to urge members to take proper care of their health by finding time to do thorough medical check-ups.
“It is also important to take good care of your health. Find time to do thorough medical check-ups periodically, including checking for breast and cervical cancer and your HIV status”.
