The Assemblyman for Bokuruwa Hon. Kwabena Osei-Kwakye and Bokuruwa Yiedie Fekuo on yesterday 8th March 2021 joined hands to present Teaching and Learning Materials and other Educational accoutrements worth over GHc 37,000 to Bokuruwa schools.
The items include; Books and stationery worth over GHc 7500, A Riding Mower worth over GHc 25,000 (donated by Mr Dickson Kwadwo Boadi, based in the USA).
Mr. & Mrs. Eric Ansong also donated the following items, 100 pcs of School bags, 148 pcs of umbrellas, 168 pairs of white socks, 48 pairs of boxer shorts and 55 girls’ panties
The Assemblyman, Hon. Kwabena Osei-Kwakye who led the presentation said his vision and that of the Yiedie Fekuo is to push till the least performer in BECE obtains single digit and sustain such performances. He praised teachers, most especially the JHS Headteacher Mr Eric Darko Ofori and Mr Richard Nyarko for their dedication.
The assemblyman profusely thanked the Philanthropists who contributed financially towards the procurement of the items most especially the donor of the riding mower adding that the riding mower is very rare equipment within the District and possibly the entire Kwahu traditional area.
The 1st Vice Chairman of Bokuruwa Yiedie Fekuo encouraged pupils to take their studies serious if the vision is to be achieved.
Present at the programme were the Krontihene and Elders, the District Chief Executive, representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association, representatives of Footprints 365 Charity Organisation, executives of Bokuruwa Yiedie Fekuo, Executives of Bokuruwa Unity Club, and the ruling party as well as parents and the Gallant BECE graduates who are getting ready to enter senior high schools.
The DCE, Hon. Isaac Agyapong added to the joy of the day when he presented 51 pairs of uniforms to pupils of Junior High School and 500 Ghana cedis to each of the BECE graduates and promised to hold a special get together for teachers. He appreciated the efforts of Teachers, the Yiedie Fekuo, the Unity Club, Nananom, philanthropists, and all who are pushing the Educational agenda forward.
The following Awards were presented to deserving personalities:
Miss Cynthia Kumah received the Yiedie Educational Committee Chairman’s Award for obtaining Aggregate 08 in the BECE, the 1st in History. She also received the Kwahu Ceragem award for the overall best student who obtained single-digit aggregate in the BECE.
Master Richard and Headteacher Eric received dedicated teacher’s awards from the Yiedie Fekuo educational committee. All the Gallant BECE graduates were each given one bag, one umbrella, 3 pairs of socks and three pairs of boys or girls underwear.
