The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, on Friday, July 9, 2021, commences his annual regional working visits to Eastern regions.
The Minister and his entourage, including some national directors, have already visited four Regions, Ahafo, Bono, Bono East. Ashanti and the last one being Eastern Region.
The six-day working visit, according to him focuses largely on assessing the successes and progress made so far in the first four years of the implementation of the Government’s flagship Planting for Food and Jobs initiatives.
Before the tour, the minister held a staff durbar to interact with staff of the Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the region.

The Honourable Minister most importantly visited farm fields inspect ongoing projects and also interact with farmers and beneficiaries of the hugely successful flagship Planting for Food and Jobs program.
He visited Nsawam prison’s maize farm, Dan-Boat poultry farm at Nsawam, and a host of others in the Region.
The Honourable minister later paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of New Juaben Traditional council, Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng.
