The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced a 36-year-old driver to three years imprisonment for causing harm to Pedestrians.
Charles Danquah, the accused, pleaded guilty to for causing harm to Emmanuel Obeng and Asante Prince.
Prosecution said the accused is a professional driver and on 5th December 2019 at about 2:30 pm, Charles Danquah was in charge of Isuzu bus with registration number GS-5610-19 with 33 passengers on board from Asamankese to Accra.
The prosecution said on reaching a section of the road between Asikasu and Asuotwene, the accused failed to observe traffic as a leading trailer track applied brake light to purchase foodstuff on the high street.
Accused driver without due care and attention drove into the rear portion of the trailer and hit two pedestrians.
The two pedestrians were sent to Regional Hospital at Koforidua for treatment but unfortunately, one of the victims became disabled in the right hand.
Accused was charged with the offenses and process for court for prosecution.
