The public has been advised to do away with patronizing drugs sold on the street by hawkers and rather visit the appropriate quarters at all times.
Ghanaians are, therefore, urged to contact pharmacists whenever there is a need for them to get medications or drugs for their ailments.
Mr. George Boye, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana gave the advice as part of the sensitization program to educate the public as it celebrates this year’s World Pharmacists Day Celebration.
Speaking on Bryt FM Ebesi Sen political show with Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma, Mr. George Boye touted the achievements of pharmacists in the health delivery system and indicated his outfit commitment to ensuring the public is served with the right medications.
On the issue of Ghana producing COVID-19 vaccines locally, Mr. George Boye supported the call and stressed the need to have collective ideas on the way forward as the society has experts and professionals who are ready to help in that direction.
However, the Society is expected to make a donation to the Koforidua Central Prisons as part of the celebrations to be climaxed on Saturday, 25th September 2021.
The World Pharmacists Day Celebration is marked across the world annually to reflect on the activities of the Society in ensuring quality good health care with this year’s event been held on the theme: “Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health”.
