Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency, Mr George Mireku Duker, has said that he is not content with the roads in Ghana.
According to him, most of the roads in the country are deplorable and as a result, affecting day in daily activities.
In an interview, the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources stated that the government has committed a lot on roads yet he has to upsurge his effort to fix all deplorable roads in the country to meet Ghanaians expectations.
He noted, “the President was in my constituency to cut sod for Agona-Nkwanta road which during the Rawlings era, it took about 4hours from Tarkwa to Takoradi”.
Mr Duker indicated that “Kufour came and it was constructed but deteriorated but thankfully, Nana Addo has cut the sod for the construction”.
He added that “some contractors have been duly paid and others would be paid but the constraints and the challenges are there.
“Nsuaem, Dompem, Tarkwa town roads had not seen any tarred road but now the contractor is on site. They are doing the drains. We had about 30% of our roads motorable and now we have about 50% or roads”.
He said “if we are able to do 50% roads at the end of our tenure, we would be proud off but we have a back lock of road that the government needs to fix.
