Koforidua District Police have seized eighty-eight (88) parcels of a substance believed to be Marijuana, impounded a vehicle, and arrested two Suspects.
Two suspects Solomon Agomadzi, 27, and Bernard Favor, 28, were aboard the impounded private vehicle in which the contrabands were concealed.
Information gathered by Mybrytnewsroom. com indicates that on February 18, 2022, at about 1:00am, while the Koforidua District Police night patrol team led by Inspector Eric Adjei together with Sargeant Gladys Amoa Bludo as well as Corporal Emmanuel Aidoo and Corporal Gideon Mensah(police service driver )were on their routine patrols in New Juaben Municipality, noticed a Black and White-colored Toyota Camry with registration number AC 660-21 at Koforidua -Ada heading towards Koforidua township.
The police officers stopped the vehicle and interrogated the occupants. A search was conducted in the vehicle in which 88 parcels of suspected narcotics with the inscription “MTN” were found concealed in the vehicle.
The Suspects were immediately arrested and sent to the Central Police station where their caution statements were taken.
Both admitted ownership of the items saying they went for it at Dzamene in Volta Region and were transporting to Kumasi in Ashanti Region.
They however said the vehicle belonged to a friend who lives on Obuasi in Ashanti Region.
The vehicle has been impounded while the suspects were detained to be arraigned in Court.
