The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as ‘Wontumi’ has declared his intention to buy Premier League club, Chelsea.
Owner of the reigning UEFA Champions League holders, Roman Abramovich recently announced his intention to listen to offers and is seeking £3 billion to complete a deal.
Abramovich has owned Chelsea since 2003 and overseen 19 major trophy wins.
Speaking on Wontumi FM, Mr Boasiako expressed his readiness to buy the two-time Champions League winners.
“I want to buy Chelsea. I am a businessman and I want to join those who are interested in buying the club. Abramovich has done his part and I believe it is about the time he helps a Ghanaian or an African secure the club.”
“Ghanaians love Chelsea so I am doing that because of them. Personally, I support Manchester United. £3 billion is not anything, we will go for negotiation. I know I will win if am able to purchase Chelsea.”
I will need Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to feature in Chelsea when I finally buy the club’’ Chairman Wontumi said in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station.
Having a mining company, five radio and two Television stations, why can’t I buy Chelsea?” Chairman Wontumi affirmed.
