Mr. Charles Antwi, an Engineer has filed his nomination form in the Lower West Akyem Constituency of the Eastern Region to join the Parliamentary Primaries.
He urged people seeking to be Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party to embark on a clean campaign without a personality attack to maintain Unity in the party for the general elections.
Mr. Acheampong has vowed to lobby for Ceramic Factory in the Constituency and make Investment in Education and Health Sector as his priority.
The Engineer, who is joining the race in the Constituency for the first time was optimistic about passing through the vetting process and winning the seat.
He charged his supporters and all delegates to ensure Peace and Unity before, during and after the election to retain the seat in the Constituency and predicted victory for the NPP in general elections.
The chairman of the Electoral Committee in the Constituency, Mr. James Apietu Ankrah who received the nomination form called on all contestants to avoid personal attack and intimidation during the campaign and urged supporters to see themselves as family members and ensure violence-free in the Primaries slated for April 25 in 169 Constituencies.
As of 19th February, five persons who picked nomination forms filed waiting for vetting.
They are; former MP who served from 2008 to 2016, Gifty Klenam, Former District Chief Executive for the area who is currently serving as Deputy Director in charge of operations at STC, Kwabena Sintim Aboagye, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Development Authority, Kwadwo Odame Antwi, Charles Acheampong and a businessman, Kwabena Asamoah.
The Lower West Akyem seat is being occupied by the NPP since the year 2000.
