Dr Ishmael Ackah, Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has called on the ECG, VRA/NEDCo, Ghana Water Company and their partners in the electricity and water sector to make meters readily available and accessible to clients in order to reduce the tendency of illegal connections.
According to the PURC Boss, the dangers of illegal connections and its accompanying losses to the State could be avoided by procuring enough meters to ensure safety and increase revenue mobilization for national development.
Dr Ishmael Ackah made this appeal when he spoke in an exclusive interview with the media when the PURC toured utility services providers in the Bono East, Bono and Ahafo regions and also held a Stakeholder Dialogue in Sunyani.
For his part, Mr Patrick Antwi the Bono Regional Manager of PURC also in charge of Bono East and Ahafo regions called on the utility providers as well as clients to always report all their concerns to his outfit for an amicable resolution.
Dr Emmanuel Ason, Regional Chief Manager of Ghana Water Company Limited on behalf of the utility companies expressed gratitude to PURC and highlighted some of their challenges.
