Dan Owusu’s inability to play for Spanish giants, Real Madrid remains one of his biggest career regrets, the ex-Ghana ace has revealed.
Owusu was adored by Ghanaians during his playing days as he was one of the finest talents in the Ghana Premier League in the 1970s. He won three top scorer awards.
And together with the late Kwasi Owusu formed a formidable striking partnership for the Black Stars.
But the former Asante Kotoko star in an interview with Sylvester Ntim of Koforidua-based Bryt FM said his inability to play for Real Madrid remains a big blot of his glittering career.
“One of my biggest regrets in football was not being able to play for Real Madrid. In fact, I was one of the prolific strikers in the country in my heydays but it is unfortunate I didn’t get the opportunity to go professional”
“I have been a Real Madrid supporter for over 40-years and not playing for them as a player is something I regret most,” he said.
Dan Owusu had stints with Tano Bofoakwa, Asante Kotoko and BA United before his retirement.
