Legendary Ghana midfielder Mohammed Polo believes Hearts of Oak had a better team last season as compared to Asante Kotoko’s current team.
The two teams will lock horns at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in matchday 24 of the Ghana Premier League.
Hearts of Oak trails Kotoko by 13 points ahead of the much-anticipated clash.
The Porcupine Warriors sit top of the table with 49 points whiles the Phobians occupy 4th position with 36 points.
In an interview with Sylvester Ntim of Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Hearts of Oak midfielder expressed his displeasure about the performance of the club but noted the rainbow boys team looked promising last season as compared to the current Kotoko team.
“Kotoko have been impressive this season, no doubts about that but I believe Hearts of Oak looked more promising last season than them this season”
“I think Kotoko must think about making an impact in Africa and not just to win the league. Hearts of Oak team last season were better than this Kotoko team but we all saw what happened to them in Africa”
“Now, people are hailing Prosper Narteh, fans always like to make their coaches proud, so if you are a coach and these praises gets into your head you will end up falling. I remember the praises that were heaped on Samuel Boadu last season, but now things are going south for him.”
