Two gas filling stations in Eastern Region have been attacked by armed robbers.
Although the attack occurred at 48-hour intervals in Koforidua and Akuapem Larteh junction, it is believed that it is highly suspected that the same robbery gang carried out the operation.
The first attack known to Bryt FM occurred at a gas station, Bance Gas located in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital on Monday, April 11, 2022.
The robbers bolted with over ¢40,000
The robbers assaulted one pump attendant and also the security officer on duty during the robbery.
On Thursday dawn about 1:40am, the robbery gang attempted to attack another gas filling station at Akuapem Larteh junction.
Inspector Albert Kuntu Blankson, who was on night duty at Yokwa Gas filling station at Larteh-junction Akuapem, came under attack by three armed robbers at about 1:00am in an attempt to rob the gas filling station.
One of the armed robbers fired at the police officer but he managed to take cover, assumed a shooting position, and returned fire.

The police officer called for reinforcement and the Divisional Crime Officer, DSP John Agyuah in charge of four personnel proceeded to the scene of the crime.
On arrival, the team met Inspector Albert Kuntu Blankson standing at the gate of the filling station and pointed out the suspect lying 10 meters away from the filling station.
An inspection of his body found a wound on his right upper part of the waist. He has briefly interrogated and the suspect mentioned his name as Ernest Antwi, 28, from Asante-Mampong. He also revealed the identity of his accomplices as Maxwell and Kwame.
The police team combed the area but could not find the accomplices.
The injured robber was rushed to Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.

Bryt FM has gathered that the robbery gang arrived at Asenema- Akuapem on Sunday, April 10, 2022, aboard a DV black private car for surveillance before embarking on the robbery operation.
They reported lodged with a self-styled fetish priest in the community.
